Frame-within-a-frame

Frame-within-a-frame photography is a composition technique which use frame to draws viewers’ attention to certain points of a photograph. More than just an effect, this technique is a clever way to highlight side-stories from the main storyline.

The frame is not necessarily square (like typical photo frame) and obvious. One can get more spectacular results by using ‘natural frames’ of all sizes and shapes such as mirrors, windows, doorways, and arches more creatively.

To focus points of emphasis, one can also apply depth of field and exposure to the current technique as well. But under some circumstances, a digital camera’s measurements of depth of field and light/shadow ratio are not always accurate. It could take few snaps before getting the right depth and exposure. Good luck!

In the Moment

We live in the moment, every second of our live. We perceive it. We experience it every day. But we remember only memorable ones; the important ones and the ones that spark the sensual/emotional domains of our brain.

In photography, it’s similar. Sometime you need to embrace on your instinct and intuition to capture meaningful moments amidst all the chaos. Engaging your inner senses with the surrounding will help you become more observant and predict the moment before it unfold.

Saying ‘lucky shot’ is a polite way of describing high level of anticipation and focus in your photo shoot. The strongest sign of capturing the moment is authenticity of your photograph; technically and emotionally. But in reality that’s no guarantee that you’ll get the moment every time. Sometime if the ‘mood’ isn’t right, the idea just doesn’t appear.

The window to the soul

The eye is the most essential part of portraiture. Without the eye as focal point, beautiful figura is nothing but a bland, characterless object in an image.

The eye is 'the truth' and it shows the most authentic manifestation of one's demeanor. This is because the eye cannot lie, it will not mask up a person's  true feeling despite that person fakes his or her look in front of the camera. Often, it's regarded as the window to the soul.

Good photographers able to articulate person's life in a single frame because the eye alone has many chapters to tell. So make use of the eye effectively. Simple things such as focusing and lighting can dramatically boost the eye's profile.

2:30

Throughout our lives, we had never seen this section of road being empty of traffic, or with two dudes fooling around with a car on the middle of that road . So the idea came while we're outing one night, and we couldn't resist it.

We arrived at the road's traffic light at 1:++am and parked the car across the road. We study the traffic, scout the traffic light area, plan our movement, and prepare the car and camera.

Unfortunately short drizzles of rain began to pour and we're forced to postpone. Our first attempt failed as the traffic clearance wasn't long enough. During the second attempt, the car didn't parked at the right spot, resulting miscomposition and a blurry picture. Finally, on our third attempt the car was parked on the right spot, and the rest was all camera settings. We did!

Greetings
